Profiling, Science vs. InstinctReader comment on item: A Call for Intelligent Profiling[ by Frederick Schauer] Submitted by Darwin Barrett (United States), Dec 30, 2003 at 16:44 The Science of Profiling may have gotten a bad reputation from real or imagined misuse, but every human "Profiles" when they select practically anything. It is a part of our human nature. Every time we make a selection of anything we evaluate that thing from collective perceptions from our own experience. This Experience may come from reading, personal observation, the opinions expressed by others, or other media. If you examine the people who cry "Predjudice" the loudest, you will find that they are the ones who are most Prejudicial. The ones who object the loudest to a specific profile are those who fit that profile the best.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
