Harkin's mother very relevantReader comment on item: A French lesson for Tom Harkin Submitted by Karl Ericson (United States), Jan 6, 2004 at 03:59 Why did Harkin's mother come to the United States. Could it have been to escape the strife between Muslims and Christians in her native Slovenia? Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia as was Croatia. Could Harkin's mother's memories of the brutality of the Muslim Croatians who joined the Nazis during World War II, led her to leave her native Slovenia for a foreign land with a foreign language when she had the chance? Perhaps Chele Kula, The Tower of Skulls (http://www.srpska-mreza.com/library/facts/Chele-kula.html) created by Muslims from the skulls of their non-Muslim victims made her nervous and she decided to come to America. If Mr. Harkin continues to pander to Islamic votes and to ignore the looming threat of radical Islam, America may cease to be a safe haven for those, like his mother, escaping radical Islam.
