The real new anti-SemitismReader comment on item: A French lesson for Tom Harkin Submitted by Brian Luedke (Republic Of Korea), Jul 31, 2004 at 23:22 Although the French media do now speak of violence against Jews, they almost always feel obliged to use the term "anti-Semitism and racism". They simply cannot use "anti-Semitism" by itself, as if they feel the need to constantly remind their audience that the Arabs are the real victims.Worse yet, anti-Jewish violence is a terrible distraction from the anti-Semitism of the white population. The French media call Arab anti-Semitic violence the "New Anti-Semitism". But the real New Anti-Semitism, of course, is the vilification of Israel, with the French media leading the crusade against the "murderers of Palestinian babies". Their perspective ignores the most important point: modern genocides are genocides BY PROXY. Did the French kill the Tutsis at Parisian roadblocks? No. Did they arm, finance, and provide diplomatic cover for Habyarimana (Rwanda's Arafat)? Massively! Do they have any guilt whatsoever about this? Hardly - France is the about the only implicated nation that has never apologized. Can one really expect the French to feel sorry about the coming genocide by proxy of Israeli Jews? They will surely say, "We had no idea what was coming." After all, Arafat's incitations to genocide are no more explicit than those of Habyarimana.
