That is just it - we don't.Reader comment on item: The West's Islamist Infiltrators Submitted by Prepare (Canada), Aug 24, 2008 at 23:58 Atheist Mohammed You make some very good points. Perhaps the media is scared, for whatever reason, to highlight the kind of movement you belong too. It would seam to me that a person and / or group of ex-Muslims would be in the best position to seriously critique Islam without the backlash of political correctness slapping them in the face with Islamophobia. The logical reason to critique Islam is because all of these terrorists claim to be doing what they are doing, in its name. Despite this, political correctness demands that we do not connect Islam and terrorism. That is just not logical. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SIDE NOTE: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back to your comments: "How do you know for sure that some moderate Muslims and ex-Muslims are not doing their best in confronting terrorists and radical Muslims? Let me give you a personal case. After becoming an atheist I've started a blog (titled: Atheist Mohammed) to promote reason and science in the face of Islamic dogma." That is just it - we don't and we can't. Your voices are not heard. In the west, dealing with this problem is a lot like trying to make your way around in the dark without a flash light. All you hear is disjointed voices. Many people, myself included would like to see a defined split in what appears to be "people that look Muslim". I guess that staging a massive public protest in London - I mean a really huge one - 250,000 people kind of huge. Get it on the news - worldwide. Muslims and / or ex Muslims seriously (but peacefully) protesting Radical Islam in the streets. Putting down Osama bin Laden and company - really working the crowd etc. However, I can understand that you could be put in harms way - and Radicals may kill you. It would also be nice to see Moderates feeding information to police about any potential radical trends they see - but once again, personal safety - I understand. I understand the "preserve your values comment". However, take France for example. Something has to be done in the next 20 years or so - or the Values you speak of - will not exist in France anymore. Muslims - good or bad - will turn France into an Islamic state, if the numbers keep going the way they are. Eventually that will mean Sharia Law in its entirety. Basically that would be the end of Western Values in France. It seams that once Muslims reach enough critical mass in a country - the stronger or more radical Muslims, always seam to push for Sharia Law. There is precedence for this. It has happened many times before. This is a very difficult problem to solve. It is going to take some radical thinking to combat this radical problem. Maybe they need to do something like this. Go into a Muslim Enclave in France - that for all intensive purposes is a non Muslim no go area and make it clear that if there is any more acts of serious violence against non Muslims that there Mosques will be burned to the ground and they will not be able to practice Islam anymore. That may be what is required, but I doubt it will ever happen through government - unless the UK breaks out into a civil war sometime in the next 10 years or so over the Muslim issue. Actually civil war may be the only thing, unfortunately, that can combat this Islamic challenge. Seeing how there appears to be no civil way to separate the Moderate / EX Muslims from the Radical Muslims. A civil war all across Europe would certainly be a way to do it. That way you would have to picks sides. You either support western values or you do not. The radical Muslims would then have to either leave Europe or fight to change it to an Islamic state. This civil war concept may then have to be repeated in every western nation in the world where radical Islamic enclaves exist. Most politically correct leftists governments will not do this - but if the people are pushed far enough - I believe they will do it to keep their freedom. Hitler learned that about Europe in the 40's. If that still did not fix the problem - I think the world would have no choice but to completely ban Islam itself. Whatever the solution may be, the earth cannot continue in a perpetual state of conflict on the subject of Islam. Since the 7th century, this is Islam's 3rd try - in their attempts to seize Europe. This is not a new problem. It has nothing to do with America or George Bush. It is a problem that is 1400 years old, and needs to be dealt with once and for all. Radical Islam is fighting this war with violence. Moderate Muslims are either scared or incapable of correcting this scourge in their own religion. Western values have a few caveats in its structure that may be of assistance. For example. Freedom. A man, with a family of 50 children, has the freedom to drive a bus. (Family bus - it is a big family) If he drinks and drives and kills someone. He will go to jail. His freedom will be removed. Removing his freedom will create a hardship for his 50 children. But how can this be, his children did not drink and drive? Makes no difference, he spoiled it for them, and now they must walk to school. Using the above example - with a few serious permanent twists - this could be applied to religion. But instead of 50 children it may be 500 Million people, or more. Bottom line is this. If 30% or so of Muslim of the Islamic faith (studies show that this is a conservative number that either participate in or support the Radical Islamic ideology) cannot for whatever reason stop this worldwide charge to a Global Islamic Caliphate. Then Islam will lose its right to be practiced as a religion in the west. It will become illegal to do so. We need to stop trying to cater to ridiculous demands and off the hook violence with political correctness and deal with Islam - the way that it deals with non Muslims. But shutting it down. There comes a time when discussion about what is fair is no longer reasonable to the greater good of humanity.
