Reader comment on item: Sharon Loses His Way On Israeli 'Settlements'

Submitted by R. Konops (United States), Feb 11, 2004 at 17:22

It seems to me that Sharon is really on to something. If we look at the intended path of the great wall of Israel, it seems that he intends to grab Arab held lands and very important lands they are for the water and agricultural value.

I believe that Sharon knows that even if the Palestinians sign on to a peace plan, any peace plan, even with the best intentions, they still will not be able to satisfy and control all the other Arabs factions that are out there.

I say Arab rather than Palestinian because it seem to me that they all have a bone to pick with Israel and subsequently with the United States in the name of the Palestinans.

This conflict has been the linch-pin of hostility in the region for decades.

I also believe that he knows that he cannot control or satisfy all the Jewish factions that are out there.
In the theme of your writing, you sometime point out, that good peace loving Muslins are cowed and frighten by extremist muslims with big mouths and big guns. Well I believe that cuts both ways.

I believe that he feel that the only way to achieve a time out for the peace loving Jews and Muslims is a complete separation of these two societies.

Therefore, take some land give some land and build a big wall between the dangerous children.

Really quite simple and it maybe the only answer to this problem which has slaughtered thousand of innocent people.

Only time will tell.
