Dear Kiana, non-American groups need to make others feel comfortableReader comment on item: "Muslims Only!" Events Submitted by Abbie (Israel), Sep 30, 2008 at 04:05 To Begin with, this thread is already 2 years old. However, I will give you my opinion of what you wrote to me, even though Muslim Day was cancelled. Muslim have not been in America for very long. I am 42 and from Miami and I never met a Muslim until I was 19, and they had come from Persia (Iran, Iraq) they were not born in USA. When any group comes to a new country it is their job to make the local population comfortable. Dressing in a manner acceptable to that country and trying to assimulation. It is not the job of people born in that country to bend over for the new comers. Personally when I think of Islam, I think of terrorism, honor killings, rapes, corruption, voilence and suicide bombs. When I think of xtains, I think of love, forgiveness, tollerance and peace. I would never align myself with groups which I look down on. America is about peace and Xtain values, rather than Muslim values. Jews, Hindus, Buhddist, and other groups choose to live peacefully with others, while this is not the case of Muslims. If Muslims would choose to be peaceful and accepting of others the case would be different. However, do you think that any Jewish people would be comfortable in a group of Muslims, all wearing the head scarf or covering their body and/or faces in the name of religion? Westernization is very important if you want to live in the West, otherwise the entire backward Arab world is available. It is very easy to write to Muslim leaders. The entire world is available on the Internet, however, it is clear that Muslims prefer to make noise about a cartoon, than their own killings. Where are the peaceful Muslims in the world? In India, Muslims are killing Hindus, in Iraq Sunnis are killing Sheites, in Israel Muslims are killing Jews and Xtains. Ahmanadeen is calling for the destruction of a tiny country called Israel and all the Jews in the world. In Gaza Muslim Jehad are killing Hamas and vice-versa. Unfortunately, Islam is a religion with something like 800 different Korans and each reader is able to take the good or the bad from this book. Until the Muslim leaders chose to have their voices heard about peace rather than death and killing, I personally do not think that these people should be entitled to all the freedom of peace loving Americans. And definetly not to make Americans born and raised in America uncomfortable in their own country.
