wrong, wrong, and wrong againReader comment on item: "Muslims Only!" Events Submitted by irfan (United Kingdom), Jul 3, 2006 at 17:30 Any organisation can book the Alton Towers theme Park for a day. In fact on Sep 30th there will be a gay day (see London Independent). It just so happens that an organisation called Islamic Leisure has the rights to sell tickets for 17 September. It has no vetting system to root out any non-Muslims. Anyone booking tickets online or over the phone is not asked to prove that they are Muslim. When Islamic Leisure "boasts" that the day will give "exclusive access for our guests" it is merely saying that tickets for the day will only be purchased through Islamic Leisure. The Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK has not officially commented on this event at all. They did not say that it was "exclusively for our brothers and sisters." You in fact quoted a member of the MPACUK discussion board - a member of the public, not a member of MPACUK. The views expressed on the MPACUK discussion forum do not necessarily reflect the views of MPACUK. The Sun is wrong when it says that "Non-Muslims phoning the Staffordshire park have been refused tickets." There is no vetting system. No-one will be refused tickets just because they are not Muslim. Like I said before, any organisation can book Alton Towers for the day. A gay day is being planned for Sep 30th. No children will be allowed on September 30th. Are you going to complain about no kids being allowed into a theme park for a day? Didn't think so.
