Dear AbbieReader comment on item: "Muslims Only!" Events Submitted by Kiana (United States), Sep 24, 2006 at 16:14 My answer to that, what is the silent majority good for? (nothing). I don't go out and protest with Palestinian flags, or burn American Flags. And i don't go out and rally for the opposite why? Because i'm too busy living my life to have time for that. I work a full time job, I have something to do 6 days out of the week. I never even heard of rally in support of anything. Those who are just trying to live their lives being americans and being musilms have too many things to balance to worry about what is going on in the outside world. Now i talk to Muslims, even those who might have some slightly different opinions than mine and I always talk about fairness and tolerance, and all muslims that i know, even the most "radical" still believe in practicing Islam appropriately and are against violence against innocent people. Most of those who you find in the Muslim world who are killing themselves and others you will find aren't even religious. they don't pray, they drink alchohol and they don't even know Islam, they were just born that way. i was born a Christian and i find that i know more about Islam than the average muslim from muslim countries. How do you write to muslim countries? I dont' even know. the thing about Islam, that i believe is a good thing but for the situation that we have now is a bad thing is this. There is no central authority. There isn't a single person that muslims can even say this is their leader, Imams don't even have that much power, so there isn't a great deal of unity in the musilm world. There certainly isn't a lot of unity amongst muslims in the U.S. There are a few groups that claim to speak for us, most muslims don't even know of them. Such as cair or ICNA, I dont' like either of those groups. I don't associate myself with any particular group nor mosque. This is how most of the muslim world is. All i can do, is when i meet muslism, i teach them what i know about islam, and When i'm in areas that i can be an influence, such as myspace, I do it. I am just one person.
