Iran's aid to the PalestiniansReader comment on item: Iran in Crisis Submitted by Lila B. Reisman (United States), Jul 23, 2002 at 11:47 It would indeed be a wonderous step for Iran to turn to a more democratic system of government and to rid itself of any strains of ultra conservative Islam that was once introduced after the Shah was deposed. However, how can the U.S. be helpful to the Iranians if they are providing arms to Palestinian terrorists and are also financing the terrorists' families with handsome monetary gifts upon the deaths of the bombers? We must remember that Pres. Bush clearly stated that whoever supports terrorists is a terrorist in the eyes of the U.S. Nevertheless, we are very "cozy" with the Saudis and it is well known now that there have been many shenanigans...Remember too, that the U.S. left the Kurds and the Iraqis, who were willing to overthrow Saddam Hussein after the Gulf War, holding the bag. We never came thru with what support we had originally offered and thousands of Kurds were later gassed to death.
