A Ray of Hope

Reader comment on item: Iran in Crisis

Submitted by Arlene Swartzman (United States), Jul 30, 2002 at 15:36

Your report on the state of affairs in Iran is encouraging -- especially in the light of recent weapons shipments to the Palestinian Authority and Iran's being named, no doubt with good cause, as part of the "axis of evil." Nevertheless this is quite hopeful news.

Still another ray of hope is an article in the Arab Affairs section of today's (July 30th)Jerusalem Post, taken from a Saudi paper. The author asked that the UN Report on conditions in the Arab world be taken seriously, that instead of the promulgation of blame and conspiracy theories, people should roll up their sleeves and get to work. Most surprisingly, there was no mention of Israel nor even any Israel- or Jew-bashing.

Thanks for your good work!
