Valentine's Day

Repression, in any society, is a desperate attempt by a doomed form of rule. It is a sign that the rule is not of the people and by the people, therefore the people will eventually overthrow it, either on their own or with outside assitance.

Human beings are not meant to be slaves to thought . Eventually even the threat of Muslim theocracy will be destroyed from within its own gates. People are blowing themselves up for Arafat because they dont have access to the way the rest of the world lives and thinks. His control over his own journalists is Hitleresque. They had to take over a building to protest his crackdwn on theri activities, of which I am sure you are well aware.

I think that getting the truth out in these areas where people do not have internet access is important. Whom shall we send? I think there needs to be a new generation of volunteers, similar to the Peace Corps, but made up of folks who can write and speak, be trained as media workers, to get out into these countries and disseminate information. Start with France (haha), India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia Egypt, Saudi Arabia.....and so forth. Not a CIA operation but a cross between Voice of America and Peace Corps.

They could start with educational meterials about forms of governtment, host forums, debates. It could catch on.
