In A Perfect World . . . .Reader comment on item: Finding Moderate Muslims - More Questions Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Oct 8, 2008 at 17:20 United America Committee, Naser Khader, Tarek Heggy, Tashbih Sayyed, Cal Thomas, Angel Rabasa, Cheryl Benard, Lowell H. Schwartz, Peter Sickle, Zhudi Jasser and Rober Spencer all make valid points with their combined comments and questions: Islam must come into the 21st Century and welcome modernity. Condemning terrorism, acknowledging terrorists, eliminating fatwas, acceptance of Israel, applauding equal rights, allowing freedom of religion and of expression, dissuading dialogue with terrorists, accepting moderate Muslims, embracing democracy, excluding Shari'a ----all these matters are high and fine and vitally important, but will they ever truly be implemented? In this imperfect world where terror abounds, poverty is rife, justice is absent, religious wars are fought, and very few are free, mere words are not enough to change things; deeds must also follow those words, otherwise all will be said or written in vain. Let us see these people in places of power actually try to bring to fruition, these changes that are necessary for finally winning the battle against this radicalism that threatens our world. We may not have a perfect world, but we can make it better.
