The Readiness is AllReader comment on item: Finding Moderate Muslims - More Questions Submitted by Zentrist (United States), Oct 21, 2008 at 20:44 We probably should triple our army, marines, etc. in order to be ready for anything that comes down the pike. Strong army and navy and air force we must have--no question. And, though I don't trust my government, I do trust to some extent a man, General Petraeus. If he said Iran is helping the terrorists, the ones who blow up innocents in order to make a statement to the world, I'd have to trust that. But I've been trained in many ways to be skeptical. (So, I agree with your powerful statment: go by the actions, not by the words.) What I want is real peace and the most efficient means of achieving this goal. If we come to a place where we stop believing in a win-win deal for all parties concerned--Iran, Israel, America, one point four billion Muslims, Israel (I repeat), the Muslims oppressed and those not oppressed (how many are there?)--where are we? Are we in a place where we just have to start pre-empting left and right? The consequences of our pre-empting Iran--talk about unintended results! This situation truly boggles the mind and makes one wonder how all parties concerned got into it in the first place. Talk about Idealism! What were they thinking, surrounding themselves with sworn enemies--but with the support of the U.S. This is an unacceptable mess, and something needs to be done that, again, represents a win-win for all parties concerned. Otherwise...I dont even want to think about the consequences. An all out war of all against all. A worldwide holocaust.
