Islam is on the RISE in USA means 1000 + 1 = 1001Reader comment on item: Appease Iran? Submitted by The Grand Infidel of Kaffiristan (Australia), Oct 10, 2008 at 21:44 Mr. Saeed writes: Islam is on the RISE in the West and America. So is Buddhism and Christianity - and various other beliefs. But it's simple maths: If yesterday there were X Muslims in the West, and today Y Muslims escaped from poor, backward and repressive 3rd and 2nd world Islamic countries to migrate to freedom loving non-Islamic countries - that would mean that there would be X+Y Muslims wouldn't it? And because Y is a positive integer , X+Y > X by definition. And if the Y (or X for that matter) component was still trapped in the idea that breeding unjustifiable numbers of homo sapiens (with the support and help of western social security systems) - that would make the rate increase too obviously. But if you look at it a little more closely what you saying is that Western societies leaves the pursuit of meaning and truth up to the individual - but note : at least Western society allows it to happen. It guarantees personal freedom of belief for all citizens - without fear or favour. And that is a credit to the West. You have not acknowledged that. Is that because you secretly hope for something a little more fascist - a little less free? Western cultures do not force beliefs down people's throats. America is not called 'the Secular Republic of the United States' - is it? No, you're right - it's not quite the same as 'The Islamic Republic of Iran' - is it? There is not a similar increase in Buddhism and Christianity in Iran is there ? But if you are honest (and I doubt you are unfortunately ) you will agree that is the case because REAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IS NOT ALLOWED IN IRAN and MANY Muslim countries. That is because Islamists think they already possess the most supreme religion etc etc I know there are several thousand Jews there and many Bahais an Zoroastrians etc - but I am talking about REAL freedom - where adherents are not subtly shunned, criticised, get second class jobs or persectued in any way whatsoever or mentally or physically punished http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Status_of_religious_freedom_in_Iran "........... How can it can DECLINE in Muslim countries?" use your imagination sir - you're good at that. If people currently bought up in Muslim societies were allowed free and unfettered access (e.g. the Internet, satellite TV etc etc) to non-Muslms philosophies , religions etc etc should be able to make the comparisons and draw insights into why MOST of the world is NOT Muslim, never will be and thinks that Mohammedanism is an anachronistic and primitive set of beliefs that holds within it the seeds of its own downfall. Here's the hard part though - the rest of the Muslim world would have to allow people unfortunately caught up in the Muslim miasma - the complete freedom to come to their own conclusions and make their own decisions without fear of retribution of any kind - covert or overt.. As you know - this would be difficult - because in the current circumstances - those deciding to reach conclusions non-conducive to the continuation of the Muslim delusion are shunned, castigated, and punished in some way - up to and including being put to death. But, Islam can decline and is declining. Global media and technology and increasing education in the developing world (a lot of which is Muslim) is making little cracks in the Muslim dyke. A trickle here and there, some disension from a few quarters, some famous apostates now and again, a few more outrages against common decency by fanatical and clinically insane Muslim jihadists - and eventually the tricle will become unstoppable. You see, Islamists can't have their cake and eat it to. You can't have a belief system that stifles questioning and critical thinking - and at the same time tries to compete with a worldwide trend toward greater and greater freedoms for individuals on so many levels. "O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith." (Surah 5:101-102). "The Holy Prophet himself forbade people to ask questions ...so do not try to probe into such things." (The Meaning of the Qur'an, Maududi, vol. III, pgs. 76-77) "The prophet was asked about things which he did not like, and when the questioner insisted, the Prophet got angry. (vol. 1, no. 92) The Prophet got angry and his cheeks or his face became red. (vol. 1, no. 91) "Allah has hated you...[for] asking too many questions." (vol. 2, no. 555; and vol. 3, no. 591, Bukhari's Hadith commenting on Muhammad's reaction to hostile questioners.) People who ARE psychologically free - see people in psychological chains who think they are free for what they are - slaves to their delusions. Unfortunately a person who is asleep psychically can never be aware of that fact - because they know nothing else. No matter how hard others try - the sleeper never awakes - until they do.
