What we expect

As a US Submarine Vet who served on a Med patrol in 1971 I know what ships look like in open waters I don't for a minute believe that the American flag wasn't clearly visable the Liberty was flying holiday colors. I don't profess to know why the Liberty was attacked but the thing that disturbed me and still does was that other Americans did not come to the Liberty's aid. I have heard that fighters were dispatched from carriers in Naples and were recalled, to me that was unacceptable. We expect to be supported by our own country not to be sacrificed to a foreign country.
