DYING CONFESSIONReader comment on item: The Liberty Incident: The 1967 Israeli Attack on the U.S. Spy Ship Submitted by Gene Thomas Gomulka (United States), May 31, 2016 at 00:43 I was the Navy Chaplain at the chapel where Ward Boston and his wife worshiped in Coronado, CA. What I am sharing is not a breach of confidentiality because Ward went on record with this after speaking with me. Ward was troubled because for years he carried with him the guilt of not having disobeyed what he later considered in life to be an unlawful order. That order was to compromise the testimony and evidence he and Admiral Kidd obtained when they conducted the Court of Inquiry into the June 8, 1967 attack on the USS LIBERTY. In a deposition he gave before his death, Ward declared that both he and Admiral Kidd concluded that "it was a deliberate, planned attack on an American ship." Cristol loses all credibility when he introduces NSA transcripts between helicopter pilots but not involving fighter pilots whose testimony supports the fact that those who ordered the attack knew the ship was an American spy ship who threatened their plans to attack the Golan Heights and who may have pick up chatter regarding their war crimes in executing Egyptian prisoners of war. Cristol's quotes from the helicopter pilots is like quoting St. Paul who said "Slaves, obey your masters," and using that biblical quote to justify slavery.
