Who Is Monitoring Chicago?Reader comment on item: CAIR Co-Hosts an Antisemitic Rally in Chicago Submitted by Israeli Ex-Chicagoan (Israel), Jan 19, 2009 at 12:20 (January 19, 2009) Over the last month there has been a wave of anti-Semitic incidents in the Chicago area -- the hate fest you describe, bomb threats at Orthodox school Ida Crown and Conservative school Solomon Schechter, Molotov cocktail thrown against a Reform synagogue located a bit north of the Gold Coast and graffiti on Orthodox shuls in Skokie. As an ex-Chicagoan watching from his home in Israel, my reaction is that Chicago needs careful monitoring. The city's Jewish community is more than dominated by JUF, an oh-so establishment bunch. I hope that non-establishment Jewish groups are warming up their engines, just in case. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
