Greetings,

two points:
kerry
1. yes there is anti-jewish sentiment. too often, too much. but zionism has co-opted the very legitimate claims of anti-jewishness. one cannot conflate anti-jewish and anti-zionist. the cause of much anti jewish sentiment is anti-zionism, because if one opposes israel (the nation), one is accused of opposing jews (the people). this only serves to perpetuate further anti-semitism, because jews and zionism are made inseperable by those who both support and oppose israel, see so it's a vicious cycle. anti-jews point to israel as an example of "see how bad jews are" and zionists point to a hatred of israel and say "see how much they hate jews." no, they hate to see a state behaving in unjust ways. they hate to see brown men and women humiliated by white men and women."

Silly, Jews come in all shades, including Black.

Nope, antiJewish sentiment has been occurring for 6,000 or so years, from the days of Pharaoh. The were huge expulsions, ghettoizations, murder, etc. long before the creation of Israel. There are several instances where I have criticized some Israeli policies, but I am a Zionist. The land the Jews purchased was worthless swampland, until they cleared it and made the area bloom. Now Arabs are jealous.

If you hate a state behaving in unjust ways, how about criticizing most of the Middle-East for their maimings, beheadings, torture, wrongful incarceration, hanging homosexuals, stonings, etc. Why do you only target Israel. To me this speaks of hypocricy.

Also, you might consider reading the numerous Israeli media sources, some are liberal, some conservative, all criticize the government, some criticize Judaism. Try doing that in most of the Middle-East and see what happens to you.

"let us not confuse what israel is: you can call it what you want, but it is merely a nation, like india, like britain, like japan. a country. surely you would understand that if i am against the polcies of a nation, say, china, for instance, that i am not necesarily sinophobic, right? i don't hate chinese, just dislike certain policies of their government."

I realize it is a nation, but Jews need a homeland because every land they have traveled to and lived in, has discriminated against them.

"2. monotheism is also a problem. islam and judiasm and christianity all. your religions are intolerant, condemn others and invariably lead to hate and conflict. if there is only one god, your god, and your god is angry and vengeful, there is no room for anybody else's religion. that is absurd, that is like saying there is only one truth and is my truth. your proof? a book. all of it, a joke!"

I am a Deist, which is a monotheist, who rejects the tenets of the monotheistic faiths. I am also a Feminist, Goy. Do not mistake me for a religious person, but I do study various religions for insight. At the moment my class is discussing Siddhartha, Buddhism and Hinduism.

Try not to make assumptions regarding posters.
