"When they [Muslims] start to say that wife-beheading is wrong, then we can take it seriously. Until then, we should consider it as a "cultural difference". So now people can do whatever they want and attribute it to a cultural differences? Great, then all murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc. should be released from jail - they just live by a different moral code than the rest of us, so why should we imprison them unfairly?

... this isn't an example of speech or ceremonial or clothing differences where the "live and let live" phrase would apply. This is an act of cruelty and misogyny that is condemned by 99% of the non-Muslim educated world. Therefore, no, his actions shouldn't be reasoned away as cultural differences. If he had done this in Saudi Arabia he probably would have gotten away with it, but in America he will live or die by our laws.
