Muzzling!Reader comment on item: When Political Correctness Chokes Off Communications Submitted by Jolly Jack (Japan), Mar 31, 2009 at 19:37 Chris Seiple is the head of what institution? Global Engagement? Sounds like a misnomer to me, given his advice that we be very careful about using certain words when addressing Islamic issues. Should it be "Global Disengagement?" Has he never heard of the First Amendment to the Constitution? This is a clear case of muzzling free speech, when the very opposite should be employed where "frank and open" dialogue is required. How can any kind of dialogue produce positive results if strict limits are placed upon our ability to express ourselves? In particular, I was amazed at the innocuousness of the words in Seiple's list! Whatever next? It's about time Islamic apologists step aside and let real leaders take over. Seiple is obviously unfit for his job. I back Dean M's list to the hilt! Chris Seiple, president of the Institute for Global Engagement?
