First term on list should have been: RECIPROCITYReader comment on item: When Political Correctness Chokes Off Communications Submitted by Wana 88 (United States), Apr 6, 2009 at 09:34 The author as a practitioner of appeasement at best (I won't speculate here on what else may be going on but have my hunches), is in essence suggesting "dhimmitude." Yup. we all submit to "second class status" from afar and the long term mission of a certain, growing, segment of the Muslim population --funded out of the Arabian peninsula and the Khaleej states-- will be expedited. Just wonderful. One can only imagine the glee with which this article would have been read in the Muslim world. To those who don't share our views/perceptions/approaches to life and living, but have a much darker outlook for multiple reasons, this suggests yet another chink in the Western armor. It serves to embolden our enemies to seek more "concessions" and not humble them with gratitude. When we start apologizing for who we are and what we stand for, the ball goes into the other court. Actually, its been there for awhile now. Last, but not least, is the crux of this ongoing lexicon "war": why don't our leaders, and their strap-hangers, DEMAND RECIPROCITY. Why do we allow the Muslim world to spout on, and act ,against our interests and beliefs and self censor in response? Why are there Saudi et al funded Mullahs working to spread hate filled versions of Muslim doctrine in our prison system but we can't send priests/rabbis to do the same? Why are the Saudis allowed to fund curriculum for private Muslim only schools in the West that are factories of hate, yet we fail to demand that we be allowed to establish similar schools (Christian and Jewish) in THEIR countries? The word is "RECIPROCITY" and we need to use it. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
