Unheard Majority is very correct.Reader comment on item: Saudi Strong-arm Tactics in Virginia Submitted by Sunil (United States), Apr 18, 2009 at 16:24 Unheard majority said it very succinctly and correctly: "This cult of Islam tolerates nothing sweet or beautiful about humanity". The Islamic doctrine takes every principle to its extreme and any dictum when taken to extreme becomes harmful. I will take some examples. 1. Human history is indeed full of crimes committed by men against the women. No days passes by when we do not hear a women being severely hurt by a men. So a lot needs to be done to protect women from certain men. But is Hijab and Niqab the answer? Confining the women in Hijab and Niqab for life is like putting them in a jail for life. Or, as "unheard majority" said, it takes the beauty away from the women. 2. There is merit into non-idolatory and monotheism. Thinking that a statue is God is stupidity for all human beings except probably for the most enlightened ones. But almost all beautiful things in the world incite divine passion into believers mind. All religions of the world have accepted different degrees of divinity in worldly objects. Recent Birkat Hachama prayer by the jews and the concept of trinity in the Christian doctrine are examples of attaching divinity to things other than the Supreme God. Even Islam attaches different degrees of sacredness to different objects (as your site recently pointed out -- prayers in Jerusalem for muslims are 1000 times sacred than the prayers at any other place except Mecca). So when rhetorical Islam insists on absolute monoteism and non-idolatory, it takes away the beauty from all things. And "unheard majority" very correctly pointed this out. 3. We all know that stealing is bad and so is adultery. But, once again, Islam takes this argument to the extreme. Cutting the hands of the thieves and stoning the prepetrators of adultry to death are examples of cruelity. Only that justice is beautiful that mingles forgiveness and mercy with punishment. The above mentioned examples of Sharia justice are examples where Islam steals beauty from things, as "unheard majority" correctly mentions. The task of all muslims and non-muslims in the world is to bring the best out of Islam and defeat the designs of fundamentalists that are taking it and the rest of the world to destruction.
