The Second Coming in IslamReader comment on item: A Call for American Boldness in Iran Submitted by Salah Ali (Norway), Jun 27, 2009 at 02:49 Blessed Be Our Prophet Jesus Christ. I am really surprised to encounter a Christian who believes strongly in his religion. It is my conviction that reason is more or less mathmatical, in the semnse, if something is proved mathmatically, it leaves no doubt at all so 2 plus 2 is 4. This is believable because it is logical and if someone come out with a different result, he could have followed something contrary to the logic we share as human beings. I do strongly believe in what you have termedis a universal common sense and it is my impression that we can share. First, I should accept whatever logically correct in your statement but I should appreciate it highly if you could possibly postpone judgment or issuing judgment. We cannot say such a thing that Islam is a redaction or reduction of previous religions. First I give you an idea of my knowledge of Arabic, Semitic culture and Islam. I have studied the translation of the Qur'an and since I live now next door to a church in Norway, I am reading the Bible twice now with a view to compare it to the Qur'an. Unfortunately, I came with a powerful impression that both books are similar in escatology. They both do not negate the existence of God and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. They are also similar in ethical perspective though the Qur'an is more worldly in matters relating to life, social life and personal behavious issues. There are of course differences between the Two Books. But, as a matter of fact, Iwe have to accept the fact that all Western nations read and understand the Bible (Old Testament and the New) in their own languages i.e. in translations. The Qur'an on the other hand, preserves its original Arabisc and is understood by all Arabs and non-Arab Moslem in its original Arabic. No wonder that there are 15 verses that stress the Arabic of the Qur'an. I have in my study and profession as a translator and linguist came to know that content and form are strongly and inseprably intertwined and confounded in the Qur'an: In other words, FORM in the Qur'an has meaning and if the Qur'an is read in translations, much of that meaning is distorted. I have just been talking to you of logic and mathmatical truth but believe me when I read the Qur'an with Sartre and Marx in my mental background : I shout Allahu Akbar! It is amazingly beautiful and harmony in sense, images and cadences is never broken. Being an Arab writer, poet and devoted to Western languages and philosophy, I can assure you that the EGO or The Spirit that speaks in the Qur'an is superhuman. Also, what about Christianity and Judiasm in the Qur'an: The Qur'an renders Islam Universal while bothChristianity and Judiasm are particular. Islam is absolute Monotheism while both other religions are combinatory. How could an allmighty, supreme light, power and wisdom generates a son. Judiasm has proved to be culture-bound in the sense it is reserved for Hebrews while both Islam and Christianity are Universal: They address man and nations from China to Alaska are either Moslems or Christians with some fringes of heathenism in India East Asia and Africa. The Second Coming is very soon. jesus Christ will get his body again and appears not in Jerusalem but in Mecca. Al-Mahdi his offspring by spiritual ascendency will antecedate him. The perspective is as follows: Ta'annut or the intransigence and greed of the Jews will cause too much bloodshed so both Christians and Moslems will unite against the Jews. However a Dajjal , a one-eyed ruler which is allegorically represented by the rather irreligious and materialistic West (since it uses and sees in one eye) will allign the Jewish heathens in a war against Islam. Al-Mahdi appears between Mecca and Babylon and 313 Moslem saints will be resurrected, and they find a leader in Al-Mahdi and all move towards Mecca for Salat and Al-Mahdi meets Jesus Christ in Mecca and Jesus Christ says prayer behind Ahmad Al-Mahdi the Twelfth Imam. Then Jesus join the Army and both move to dethrone Dajjal and remove injustice from the world. Humanity will regain consciousness and start the building of the City of God... This is what is told by our religion and heritage. So it is not the great islam that is a copy of older religion..It is the embodiment of the light and radiance of God in the World and Blessed Be Our God The Master of the Worlds Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
