Saddam's Babylon

"A historically violent country, a place replete with corruption, hatred", Dr Pipes writes about Iraq. As if the whole region would be tormented by powerful demons. Demons? Daniel 10:13 : (Daniel in a vision sees a herald angel) "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days." Here we have one perfect exemplar.
This whole Bagdad - Babylon affair in my mind vividly portrays the end time scenarios we can read about in the Bible. After having been in ruins for thousands of years Saddam started to rebuild the ancient city of Babylon, Hanging Gardens and all. Everything exactly as it was in the days of Nebuchadnezzar, ca 600 B.C., the building going on incessantly even during the war with Iran and during the Gulf Wars. The rebellion of Man against God originated there and in that corner of the earth everything will converge and terminate. There the Adversary will suffer a crushing defeat.
