But will they STAY defeated? History and numbers say "no"

The Palestinians won't go away of their own accord and their fellow Arabs won't absorb them.

They have been defeated several times, but they are not defeated because they keep outbreeding Israelis and festering like a powerful bacillus.

"G-d" might intervene and Jesus might come back in His Kingdom, but if God's intervention remains as subtle as it has for the last 1400 years of bloody Moslem history, I see no reason for optimism or even hopeful uncertainty.

I am afraid that Israel is just another Crusader Kingdom like Jerusalem, Acre or Tyre. Those lasted about 150 years -- and demographic projections suggest Israel has somewhat less -- maybe a century from inception in 1948 to collapse (or democratic replacement by a Palestinian majority) around 2050.

It wil be another hideous irony of history that Islam -- the most powerful and lasting threat to human freedom in history -- will use the tools provided it by the West and israel to destroy them from within.

Sadly, that is my prediction for both israel and Europe, with the US going a somewhat different but similarly depressing downward course.
