OLIVER AGAIN!

Your religion is of no importance to me or to my folk. What you believe is your business but what we believe is ours. You have absolutely no right to come to this forum and start preaching to us. You have absolutely no understanding of our relationship to G-D. You have absolutely no comprehension of our feelings or of our thoughts concerning our religion. You are totally ignorant of the truth of our history and even what you do know is a distortion of who and what we are. You say "YOU JEWS" in a way that betrays your true feelings toward us. You claim to be our friends but you seek to undermine us at every turn. You are no different than the Greek or the Roman or the Arab for that matter. Each one of you wants to make us subservient to your ideas, the ideas of strangers and foreigners.

If we had our temple now you would only try to destroy it so you could hasten the comming of the Mashiach. You don't have the patience to wait for G-D. You think you can preempt HIM and determine when HIS time will be. Always you will be trying to second guess G-D and you foolishly think that HE cannot change his mind whenever HE wishes. You foolishly think that just because somebody wrote something in a book that G-D must be bound to it. G-D is bound to no man save that HE wishes to be and HE CHOSE ISRAEL. If you want to be chosen you must take up the burden the Jews have had to bear for the last two millenia. But I seriously doubt that you would have the stomach for it.

You have taken a good man who was a true hero amongst us and turned him into a weapon to use against us. You have taken our book and used as a stick to beat us with. You have taken the words of our prophets and set yourselves in their places to judge us and you have taken the judgements meant for a few and applied them to a whole poeple. For the sake of one rotten apple you would judge the whole barrel. Some farmer you are!

You blame us for the trials and difficulties in your own lives and yet you refuse even to try to change yourselves to the better. What's the matter, don't you have enough faith in G-D to shoulder the burden for yourself as HE would wish or must you always look for some one or some thing to blame as an excuse for your laxity? Oh yeah, I know. The Devil made you do it! I've got news for you. Satan can't make you do anything. He has only the power that you are willing to grant him and no more.

Oh yeah, you think that when the Mashiach comes we will all be cast down to grovel in the dust at his feet. Right? I've got news for you. G-D doesn't want us to be seen groveling in the dust. HE wants us to stand up as men and be counted for the right and true in life. HE wants us to be courageous and forthright in our dealings with others and above all HE wants us to be honest in our thoughts, words and deeds. That is what HE gave us the LAW for to keep us on an even track. But I suppose you think the LAW is of no consequence in your life. After all, all you have to do is bend over and say a few HAIL MERRYS and OUR FATHERS and all will be forgiven. Right? Light a few candles at an alter, eat a bit of bread and drink a bit of wine and your soul is all cleaned up. G-D is letting you off easy! Try being a Jew for a while. Then you might learn the true meaning of being "CHOSEN"! It ain't an easy trip to be sure and it certainly ain't for the weak minded or the doubtful or timid. To be a JEW demands every moment of your life. There is no time when you are relieved of the burden of responsibility. It's not something you can put down when you are tired or sick and you can't even escape in death. It's something you are not because you choose it but because G-D made you that. You have no choice but to be who you are and be the best you can be at it.

So don't preach to us. Save your sermons for those who need them. WE DON'T
