American Administrations - Then and NowReader comment on item: Netanyahu's Quiet Success Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Oct 26, 2009 at 19:51 After having read this post and the following exchanges regarding the situation of the Middle East and the apparent failure of the current American Administration to affect a true sense of how to achieve a Middle East peace with all parties, to assign blame to the different predecessor's of the process does not give a true pleading of the real facts, that the Middle East peace process is doomed to failure for one reason only, failure to recognize the sovereignty of Israel in its own land, intact and whole (including the whole of the West Bank), and failure to allow them to live peacefully. No matter the ideology that would wrest the land from the Hebrews, they have a real historicity that only the ignorant will deny, and that has come from just about every American Administration that thought they could barter peace without guaranteeing such recognition. Calling for a referendum to change the government is unconstitutional. If the American executive is found to be in malfeasance (or other such defamation in office), the correct procedure is impeachment, and removal by the legislative process that follows the Constitutional mandate for such things. But since we have a legislative body that has elected to neglect such observances, all that can be said is, those who voted for such things can live with the consequences. We can trace this back to the deflection of morality based on the truths that founded this country, and now the whirlwind is in reaping mode. All the other infractions, misdemeanors, etc., are mere incidentals.
