OBAMA BOXED INTO A CORNERReader comment on item: Netanyahu's Quiet Success Submitted by Ilene Richman (United States), Jun 25, 2010 at 09:25 "Messiah" Obama has boxed himself into a corner by firing General McCrystal. The strategy of Gen Patreaus (Anti-Semite, who blames Iraq & Afghanastan on Israel), is a strategy leading to a dead zone-a zone where many of our young military die in vain. Gen. Colin Powell had the correct strategy-overwhelming force. This is what Gen. Powell learned from fighting a no win war in Vietnam. Now, the same thing is happening. Petreus and his strategy want to tip toe around the enemy and make them our friends. Meanwhile, the "so called Afghan friends" are collaborating with the Taliban, taking bribe money from the American military so their military vans can travel safely. But, each day, more and more young military are being killed in this "fight to an no end war" because overwhelming force is not used. The means to winning is to defeat the enemy, not to make them our friends. Churchill learned this lesson in Afghanastan in the late 1800's. There are too many tribes and warlords, and too much corruption in the drug trade, to defeat the Taliban. The Taliban must be defeated by overwhelming force, as per Gen. Powell. The Afghans and the Taliban are not our friends. They are our enemies, seeking to constantly pick off our young military. I can see why Gen. McCrystal was disgusted and voiced his disgust, via aides, to Rolling Stone. Gen. Patreaus believes we have a victory in Iraq, by his stategy. But, in essence, there is a loss. Each day, there is constant voilence in Iraq. There is no success via Gen. Patreaus' method of winning over the tribes. The tribes kill each other. And the same thing is happening in Afghanastan. There is a corrupt govt in Afghanastan, drug trade, and the American military is trying to make friends with these people. But, don't turn your back or you might have a bullet or knife in it. Obama is a failure and the strategy is a failure. Obama has signaled US forces will leave in July 2011. Since when do you tell your enemy when you are going to leave? It is laughable. However, it is very sad as young military are dying for an unending war and an enemy that will remain in place. Obama is also an enemy of a great ally, Israel. He has alientated Netanyahu and the Israelis. Israel will do what it has to do to protect its people. That is more than Obama could ever do. As a matter of fact, our allies detest him but our enemies love him. He has alienated our friends in the world but coddles up to countries that want to kill us. Well, one thing I can say. He is a good basketball player and should stick to playing basketball because he knows nothing about politics. He is a narcisstic person who only thinks about himself. This is well proven by his handling of the oil gulf spill. Twenty nine months is a long time to wait and get rid of this administration. But, his time will come and he will go down in history as one of the worst presidents. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
