They Have Always Told the West One Thing While Keeping The True 'Palestinian' Hope Alive

In this update, Dr. Pipes has redirected attention to a long-established dictum, that when wanting to know what a 'Palestinian' thinks about the issues concerning Israel and the 'Palestinian' desire to wrest land from Israel to establish an independent state, always listen to them in the language they would speak to their grandparents. They have always practiced telling the west what the west wants to hear, yet keeping their true desires hidden in the language of their minds. As Dr. Pipes observed again, Yasser Arafat was well practiced in that methodology.

In this, we see revealed that no matter what Israel and the west presents as potential terms for resolving the alleged 'Palestinian' issue of statehood, for the politically-challenged 'Palestinian' cause, nothing less than the diminishment and eventual dispossession of the lands held by Israel is the final status sought after by the 'Palestinian' politicos. They have said so time and time again. Is there any wonder that Israel should be so defensive (none that can be substantiated in common reasoning)?

The powers that be have twiddled away the opportunities for realistic resolution while Israel must steel herself for the inevitable, the onslaught coming at the hands of Israel's detractors. As we have said before, keep watching, for it is near, now that Syria has made clear its known intentions on the northern front.
