Tariq RamadanReader comment on item: Tariq Ramadan Gives Up – Then Tries Again Submitted by Bill West (United States), Jan 21, 2010 at 14:21 Prof. Pipes said it about as well as it can be said. Our political (non) leaders have kow-towed to the Islamists in a huge way with this move. They have essentially admitted Ramadan's exclusion dealt with his "making statements counter to U.S. foreign policy"...a soft-spoken way of saying he used his position of prominence to espouse support for terrorism, and that is a specific legal provision under US immigration law to prevent his entry into the United States. But the much touted "rule of law" will be ignored because "the president and the secretary of state have made it clear that the U.S. government is pursuing a new relationship with Muslim communities based on mutual interest and mutual respect." Apparently, the rule of some law applies differently to different people, depending on the political flavor (and favor) of the day.
