If Iraqi democracy shold take firm root, the war may yet prove epochal. Certainly the neighbouring Iranian government fears just that, it being perhaps the first Islamic authoritarian group to feel the wrath of its citizens, as they clamour for their own democracy.

That we hear so little about this perhaps reflects not the minimal import of the Iraqi revolution, but that the MSM is still loathe to credit even the possibility that Bush may have done something historically great and good.
