Fact check 2 (easier)Reader comment on item: Nazi Propaganda for the Arab World Submitted by Adam Mc (United Kingdom), Oct 4, 2010 at 09:24 What should we make of the fact that the actual historical Holocaust was committed by Christians, in the main Catholics and Protestants but also Eastern Orthodox Christians? Is this less significant than a hypothetical future Holocaust inflicted by Muslims on Jews, or vice versa? Taking a historical view then, which religion should be seen as the most anti-semitic? Sticking with the actual Holocaust, Catholics were amongst the main resisters to deportation and extermination in Germany and Poland, a role taken by Protestants in France. Amongst the safest countries for Jews were Protestant Denmark, Catholic Italy and Muslim Albania, amongst the most dangerous were Catholic Slovakia, Protestant Holland and Orthodox Greece. This is all very confusing due to the apparent lack of correlation between reilgious persuasion and level of anti-semitism. Any response, to this or my previous post, would be much appreciated.
