(Germany), Nov 15, 2010 at 23:27 ... the so called "FREIHEIT" party ... there has been a controversy over their program, which was deemed all too close to the extremist splinter party CM (Christliche Mitte) by many observers; and that even Aaron Koenig, one of their founding members, is having a hard time swallowing the inherently fundamentalist Christian agenda that some CDU dropouts are pushing there? Anyway, Angela Merkel is already scrambling to move the CDU slightly back to the right. This will probably absorb much of the grumbling islamophobic Germans and will likely leave FREIHEIT, PROs and other ultra-rightwing parties a la REP, DVU, NPD etc. well below the 5% necessary to get into the Bundestag. This is a specificity of German elections. I don't think this specific party will have a chance in Germany like other right wingers in Europe. It was bound to happen, but without charismatic people like, say, Thilo Sarrazin, on board, they are DOA. Regards, -Farid (Morocco and Germany). Submitting....
