Looking from a different lens

I look at the happening in the Middle East from a different lens. I hold to a "Biblical world view" which means I interpret modern events through the Bible. When someone's world view is different from mine, yet their view lines up with the Biblical world view, I take notice. The two blocks you describe in the Middle East "line up" with a Biblical interpretation of Ezekiel 38/39 that prophesies of Israel being trampled in the Last Days. In this view, the nations in your Saudi bloc are succumbed by a nation from your Iranian bloc.

Daniel 11:41-45 prophesies that Egypt, Yemen (Libya), and Ethiopia will come under the dominion of a Last Days' "king." Many interpret this king to be the leader of a spiritual empire, i.e., Islam. Rev 17 is interpreted to prophesy of a coming defeat of the "harlot," Saudi Arabia, by ten nations/groups which are aligned with her (Islamic). That is, from within Islam, Saudi Arabia will be destroyed by those from within her own ideaology (her oil will be the means of destruction). Dan 7:24 adds to this prophecy that three other nations, also aligned with one another (Islamic), will be defeated. The result will be the "one world" religion of Rev 13:1-10, i.e., Islam will have dominion over the world. The Saudi bloc are the nations that will be defeated by the Iranian bloc (led by Shia's Mahdi).

To me, the signiifcance of the turmoil in the Middle East is that the process is beginning. Perhaps the military in Eygpt will by able to sustain the country during its transition; from my view, it is the first step in an unfolding of events that the Bible describes as the Tribulation period.

Perhaps we see things from a different lens; regardless, we are closer than ever before in how the modern day seems to be lining up with how God foretells the end will come.
