War is going to become much largerReader comment on item: Four Middle Eastern Upheavals Submitted by Joe Six-Pack (United States), Mar 30, 2011 at 11:18 The issues that are the cause of all of this are far too large to be settled by the conflicts in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. Even President Obama is being drawn into this conflict. However, Libya is not going to be central in resolving the issues that are the basic cause of all this unrest. Maybe this is why President Obama feels that he can become involved here. I do believe that he is sympathetic toward the Islamic cause. He certainly is a CHANGE from historical United States ideology and Islam is about as opposite of our beliefs as anything else. I don't know how much longer the war can remain conventional. It is only a matter of time before WMD are deployed. Maybe this will all settle down. Don't count on it. Wars are won by the side that escalates to a level the other side will not or can not match. I just do not see the enemy pulling back. If anything, I see them pressing forward. Our President must not see this. Or else he is pulling for them. Either way, we are in for a major conflict. This war has not even begun yet. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
