Chosen Not of By Man, But of Faith in Jesus Christ, Still ChosenReader comment on item: Four Middle Eastern Upheavals Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Apr 7, 2011 at 11:42 For starters, thank you. Since I am not of the chosen people as designated by Almighty God in the sense I think you are referring to, I must defer and make it clear that I am an adopted child of Almighty God, by the power of His Holy Spirit through faith and belief in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. On the other hand, I should wonder that it is evidently not plain enough yet that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ after all I have witnessed. Quite strange. Yet, even as I am not known to be of the Sons of Israel, I am a follower of Jesus Christ in faith in the same way that Abraham is; and so it is I have my relationship with Jesus Christ as a son of Abraham's faith. But I do recognize the Torah, Neviim, and Kethurim (the Tanach) as the basis for all the world had known as the revelation of Almighty God in the past; and of the Brit Hadassah, the fulfillment of the Tanach in Yeshua HaMashiach, as the complete revealed reason for my existence in this world, and the preparation they give for facing the LORD in the next. Now it is interesting that your take of the Torah is different than my understanding of the Tanach, for while I can see that there are indeed troubling times ahead for anyone not understanding what the Holy Scriptures say, I have no fear of the hordes you mention, whether they be Pathan, Muslim, or whomever really gets to be set up for the LORD's glory. You really must be careful to read ALL the Scriptures that apply; for if you had in true belief of what they portend, you would not be so willing to condemn the hordes to the fate the LORD Almighty God has prepared for them. Israel's history is really not so dominant except as long as Israel maintained their proper relationship with Almighty God. But as can be plainly seen, they have to return to Him in truth to get the full intent of the blessings that await them after the return of the LORD. Further, if you had read the Torah as you seem to indicate as carefully as you really should have, you would know that the Jews really are still the chosen people. But I am guessing you'll get to see that for yourself, later. So, why in the world would a believer in Jesus Christ seek protection from Muslims when it is the Muslims that are intent in decimating the Christian population for preaching Jesus Christ in Muslim lands? That is somewhat contradictory, do you not think? The machete can only kill the body; but life in Jesus Christ surpasses the threat of the machete. So my trust is in Jesus Christ, and not in the deity that says for all who do not submit to Islam to be terminated. With my trust in Jesus Christ, my future is a fait accompli, not according to your take on the Torah, but on the assurance of the correct reading of the Gospel, of the sacrificial death on the cross, of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ; and of His triumphal return to Jerusalem when the mighty Pathan (or whoever else's) armies have been vanquished in preparation for His (Jesus Christ's/Yeshua HaMashiach's) reign in Israel, who will have indeed, dominated in the end. And finally, being chosen of Almighty God did not, does not mean one can do whatever one wants and expect Almighty God's blessing. When Israel gets back to serving the LORD as is shown in Moses' song (the Torah, fifth book, 31st and 32nd chapters; Revelation 15:3), you will have a chance to understand what it really meant to be chosen by Almighty God, if in fact you get that chance. Believing the truth and getting to sing that song will help in a very real way. That's what I read in the Torah, Neviim, and Kethuvim, etal.
