Clueless nitwitsReader comment on item: Palestinians Attack Their Supporters Submitted by Nafata Bamaguje (Nigeria), Apr 15, 2011 at 16:10 Nothing new here. Naive non-Muslims who work to support Islamists usually live to regret it. America supported Bin Laden et al in the anti-Soviet Afghan Jihad which boomeranged in 9/11. The Iranian left worked with Islamists to overthrow the Shah, only for the leftists to be later mercilessly wiped out by the succeeding Mullah tyranny. Egypt's secular pro-democracy activists who initiated the ouster of Mubarak, are already being schemed out by the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists in the new dispensation. Then there's Pakistan on which America has spent billions of dollars since the cold war, yet Pakistan is a hotbed of anti-American Jihadist activity. This is why for the life of me, I can't figure why the West stupidly supports Islamist rebels masquerading as democrats in eastern Libya. In the unlikely event Ghaddafi is removed and the "pro-democracy" Islamists takeover, the West will live to regret their support. But then I suppose the West's self-destructive hubris prevents it from backtracking from the ill-thought intervention in Libya that has only served to escalate and prolong the conflict which should have been over 3 weeks ago had Ghaddafi being allowed to crush the rebellion. In other words, NATO's ill-advised intervention has only succeeded in increasing the suffering of the Libyan people whom the UN purportedly intervened to protect. Nafata Bamaguje Katsina, Nigeria
