Did you forget that Obama is President?Reader comment on item: Empower Iranians vs. Tehran Submitted by john w mcginley (United States), Jul 19, 2011 at 10:13 My first reaction was to remind you that the devil you don't know may be worse than the devil you do know. But your review of that Iranian faction which we could ally along with and the consideration that the devil we do know here cannot be much more worse anyway, makes me think that there may be an opening for something significant to be set in motion. But your article is in vain. Why? Isn't it obvious? Obama is our President. Do you not recall the Iranian uprising in 2009 in response to the rigged election?. There was a real opportunity for regime change and, further, one that just might have resulted in a truly democratic regime. What did the Obama Administration with this golden opportunity? He gave speeches using his teleprompter. And now he is "leading from behind" as Libya and Syria slide into social chaos (a condition which is ready-made for a virulent upsurge of influence and power for Terrorist groups). There are reports that Obama dithered for a whole year after Intelligence had discovered the whereabouts of Osama ben Laden. My own supposition is that he finally acted only because there was a CIA threat to leak the fact that his opportunity was fading fast. I could go on and on. Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like a Winston Churchill. As usual, the world will keep on dithering about Iran until it is virtually too late. It will fall to Israel -- whose very being is threatened by that evil regime in Teheran -- to take matters into their own hands. But even then I suspect that an Obama-led Administration ((yes, he very well be re-elected; these are kinds of things which happen when a great Empire {ours} slides into rapid decline)) will not act to persuade Saudi Arabia to allow Israel to use its air space in carrying out the needed preemptive attack against this evil Regime. If you think things are a mess now, just wait to see what chaos will emerge if Israel is thwarted in this effort.
