Assessing QadaffiReader comment on item: Assessing Qaddafi Submitted by sufi imdad ali soomro (Pakistan), Sep 5, 2011 at 06:56 I am confused and confounded to read ridiculous opinion on the dictatorial rule of Colonel Qaddafi. Being a historian or critic we have very much right to assess his achievements and failures but one should not be judgmental while portraying his personality. There are so many evils like Bush, Obama, rulers of Israel, India, Pakistan and others which adopted suppression policy as a tool to use against their opponents. But world community is a .selective they never condemned Israel, never said that former prime minister of Israel, Sharon who is now in coma is butcher of Palestine people. in fact world did not condemn Bush who for sake of Oil killed millions innocent people. He was a dictator and had adopted iron fist policy to suppress and oppress his opponents. It is a crystal clear and influential people of world community know it very well rather they fully supported his illegal actions including Lockerbie blast. It is right time to assess whether Oil hungry and Western countries which are ardent supporter of US have right to wage a war on such countries which are not accepting terms and conditions of US and its allies. It is irrelevant whether he was dictator or savior of his people. Most concerned thing is that whether for sake of resources, US and its allies have right to topple legitimate government, kill or induce rebellion to kill innocent people, destroy properties, set ablaze buildings and commercial apartments in order to get constructions orders from installed government.
