It is because Islamists hide under a religious umbrellaReader comment on item: In Praise of NYC's Muscular Counterterrorism Submitted by Prashant (United States), Sep 14, 2011 at 00:46 Dear Dr Pipes: You are correct in saying that the US law enforcement has followed a pretend anti-terrorism policy when fighting Islamic terrorism. But we all should realize that US law enforcement is not the only afraid to call Islamic terrorism by its name. Politicians and social and religious leaders all around the world are afraid to speak the truth for the fear of hurting the religious feelings of Muslims. This is because Islam-the-socio-political-force hides behind the umbrella of Islam-the-religion. And this process does not even stop at public figures. None of us is able to speak the truth about Islamic terrorism for the fear of being accused of bigotry. No American will hesitate when calling the Communists or Nazis enemies. But, when people discuss 9/11 they do not use the word enemy. Most people while describing 9/11 refer to it as "something that happened" and not as "something that was done". We do not have to follow the Islamic agenda. The only spiritual Islam is what a faithful follows in the privacy of his/her home. What is followed on the streets is a political system and deserves all the criticism as it gets.
