Dear Dr. PipesReader comment on item: 'Palestinian-ism' is only a Muslim tactic to help destroy the Jewish state Submitted by Debanjan Banerjee (India), Jan 1, 2012 at 22:44 Dear Dr. Pipes, Considering the recent tension in Israel between the secular minority governing elite and the ultra-orthodox community , do you think now that this particular confrontation is bigger than Palestinian and Iranian issues ? Looking at the present demographics of Israel do you think this civil discord between the ultra-orthodox and the secular minority governing elite could trun into violent confrontations that may end up in the overthrowal of the secular elite and a religious theocracy clatching nuclear weapons in an extremely volatile region ? What are the causes in your mind that you believe has led to the situation inside Israel detoriate so much and what do you think the ISraeli policies should be regarding these ultra-orthodox community who are nominally anti-zionist and do not want to participate in Israeli economy or IDF ? Take care and have a happy new year Debanjan
