Banerjee, essentially, complimented Israel and JewsReader comment on item: 'Palestinian-ism' is only a Muslim tactic to help destroy the Jewish state Submitted by Ted (United States), Jan 4, 2012 at 23:47 Dear Dr Pipes: Debanjan Banerjee does not possess a lot of logic and none of his arguments can be relied upon but in his recent response to me he inadvertently complimented Israel and the Jews. Banerjee said, "So ultimately Israel's greatest threat comes from within i.e. the historically unresolved dispute between the ultra-orthodox and the secular elites." Banerjee is right. Banerjee's statement holds not only for Israel but also for almost entire non-Islamic world. You see, in Israel, in the USA, in India, and in most of European countries there are liberal factions and conservative constituencies that fight (yes, non-violent fight; no murders here) with each other and a balance in the society is achieved. Unfortunately, this is not true for the Islamic world. In most of the Islamic countries if a liberal faction as much as takes its first breath, it is murdered (just one example for Banerjee's sake: the murder of Salman Taseer for objecting to Pakistan's blasphemy laws). So Banerjee may defend the islamists all he wants but then his contradictions and hypocrisy will be impossible to hide.
