I've Become a CulturalistReader comment on item: Reflections a Year after Hosni Mubarak's Resignation Submitted by Kepha Hor (United States), May 31, 2012 at 05:42 I've reached the conclusion that a country needs to have some Calvinism in its cultural DNA, or to have lived under the influence of such a country, in order for the North Atlantic system of checks and balances and consensual government to work. Maybe Islam's denial of original sin (at least, if I heard the da'wa boys correctly) is why the whole Islamic world, when something goes wrong, fails to ask "Where did we go wrong?", but instead screams "Who did this to us?"
