While referring to Jesus in an Islamic manner may be a legitimate red flag, Obama may also be someone who simply has not taken any serious Christian teaching to heart. Churches are full of people who know little of the Bible or historical Christian doctrine. Certainly a long period in Protestant history--from Daniel Friederich Ernst Schleiermacher in early 19th century Germany down--in which people who call themselves "Christians", or even ministers and theologians, have denigrated either the Old Testament, Paul the Apostle, or both has aided and abetted the confusion about what Christianity is. So, Obama may be just one more victim of an era of great spiritual decadence and confusion (I speak as someone who identifies as a Christian of the Reformed and Evangelical type) in nominally Christian circles.

One last word: to those who may think Obama is a Muslim simply because the Islamic radicals haven't tried to kill him after he claimed to be a Christian, I suspect that there may well have been threats to the President's life from such circles, but that the US government is careful to keep them unpublicized.
