Guilt by AssociationReader comment on item: How Barack Obama Sees the United States Submitted by StephenMarin (United States), Sep 4, 2012 at 22:05 I don't buy any of this guilt by association. Anyone with intellectual curiosity wants to hear both sides. It doesn't mean they buy into any beliefs. Calling these people friends is also a huge jump. Association neither determines one's beliefs nor designates friends. In Chicago, Barak Obama was always accused of being too much in the pocket of his Jewish backers and the Jewish political operatives with whom he still spends huge amount of time. It's funny to see him suddenly being accused of siding with the other side. I've been a big Daniel Pipes fan for years, but .... I think Obama is at least as pro-Israel as Romney. Unfortunately, Romney will say whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear, so I have no idea what he really thinks. Israeli ambassador to the UN, Michael Oren, confidently states Israel US relations are the best in history. Aside from what he calls diplomatic kerfuffles, he thinks relations are great. I think Obama has made a few unfortunate mistakes . They're part of the amateurism that all newbie presidents are guilty of. Today he probably would handle those situations differently. Can't beat job experience. .
