Respectful disagreement

I enjoy your newsletter but in this case, I disagree with two of your assessments.

1) In my view, Israel's willingness to compromise, to return conquered territory, has prolonged the conflict and strengthened their enemies, who now are sitting on their 'door step'.

2) Palestinians, as all follwers of the evil creed of Islam which threatens not only Israel but also the United States (witness the way the Obama administration is embracing Islam), will never 'mellow' or give up their goals of conquest and destruction.

Based on my knowledge of American history, the only wars, which seem to me to have lead to peace and to have achieved anything, are World War II and the Civil War. In both cases, the victors destroyed the vanquished. The Palestinians indoctrinate their young with hatred for Israel and the West. Until they are utterly defeated, crushed militarily, nothing will change in that region. I hope that events prove me wrong but I am sceptical that they will do so.
