Intentions vs. ResultsReader comment on item: Pipes criticises Middle East leaders Submitted by Cherice (United States), Feb 13, 2005 at 11:38 Results are what matters here.If Mahmoud Abbas will not or cannot stop the terror attacks against Israel, then Israel will have to do it. There is really no choice here. Israel will not and cannot just sit by and do nothing while its people are being murdered just because Abbas has good intentions. That's absurd. As the leader of the Palestinian people, Mahmoud Abbas IS responsible for their actions. The terms of the road map and this truce call for an end to the terrorist attacks, not good intentions. Tony Jones appears not to get that the terms of the truce are that both Israeli military actions and Palestinian terror attacks end, NOT that terror attacks can be allowed to continue while Israel sits and takes the murder of her people as long as Abbas has good intentions. Good intentions are great, but they do not fulfill the Palestinian requirements in the truce or the roadmap.
