Showtime History MiniseriesReader comment on item: What Planet Does John Kerry Live On? Submitted by Jules Posten (United States), Feb 7, 2013 at 11:01 Showtime, a cable "entertainment" network recently showed a miniseries call The Unknown History of The United States. this miniseries was scripted and narrated by Oliver Stone. having seen a number of his films, i cannot say that Mr Stone is any favorite of mine, however knowing how his films distort the subject, i was somewhat curious of what his overall view of our country was in this "unknown history" well, according to Oliver Stone, the US has never done one honest thing in its history. in fact, we are responsible for every ill in this world, kind of similar to Pandora and her box. in fact, we are to blame for Jos Stalin's actions because we never gave him a real chance to display his friendship towards the US. i could go on and on, but suffice it to say his view of America is not the views on which i grew up with. maybe i'm the sucker here as well as most of my generation. i was called to service and served two years with the army, i came home, worked paid taxes, raised a family, and now Oliver Stone tells me what a idiot i was. i cannot help to think how much Stone's "history" parallels the views and actions of President Obama and he's been elected twice, while the media and the electorate shout "Hosanna, Hosanna", our great leader has come to us. maybe I and people like me are the great suckers, taken in by an American Dream that never was.
