Very enlightening and disappointing article i could say.Reader comment on item: Futile Israeli Efforts to Win Ankara Back Submitted by Alexandros (United Kingdom), Feb 19, 2013 at 11:41 First of all, when the Greek, the Cypriot and the Israeli government started the ongoing collaboration for exploiting the natural resources, all sides stated that this collaboration-alliance is not against anyone in the region and is going to act according to the international law. Now the article reveals something different, that Israel would not mind going against Cyprus and Greece so to revise their former alliance with Turkey, i hope have expressed the difference between the two potential alliances clearly, as it is written in the article by this phrase
As for the Israeli officials who are working on an apology, they should know that any kind of apology is received by the Sultan as submission, it is exactly what they want. In any case though this shows that israeli government could not be fully trusted by the Greek and the Cypriot governments and this not because they would like to co-operate with Turkey, all countries want and should want to co-operate with Turkey, as long as Turkey is not imposing threats against them and starts to respect international law, but because they would even go against Greece and Cyprus in order to succeed reviving such a co-operation. Unfortunately, even though the public opinion in both Greece and Cyprus were and are pro this co-operation - alliance and as am i personally, in the end i think that with such actions and opinions disbelief and mistrust will prevail! Daniel Pipes replies: Good point; I agree that Israel's move here is not true to the spirit of its new relationship with Cyprus and Greece. Reader comments (24) on this item
