Egypt: Combining Iran and HaitiReader comment on item: Destroy Egypt's Antiquities? Submitted by Dave (United States), Feb 24, 2013 at 17:29 Egypt is a Malthusian nightmare headed into Haitian-like poverty, at the same time that religious reactionaries are gradually turning it into a repressive theocracy devoid of civilized qualities. Umm Kalthoum was veiled because The Prophet didn't approve of music, and Taha Hussein was too bold in his thinking to keep his head from the grim verdict of Sharia. The new Egypt: No music, no thinking, no freedom, no fun..and no food. Hope they enjoy those F-16s, though.
